Summer Property Repairs

The summer is a perfect time to carry out maintenance and improvements to the outside of your property. Undertaking a visual inspection now will give you plenty of time to prepare and plan for the months ahead. Things to look out for include:

  • Loose and missing roof tiles
  • Rotten and exposed woodwork
  • Unsafe and blocked guttering
  • Broken and uneven paving

Remember: Landlords are legally required to keep their property in a good state of repair.

(Piggy says “Don’t rely on a Letting Agent’s periodic inspection report to highlight these things.  Understandably they will focus primarily on the internal condition.  Your tenant is also not necessarily going to draw your attention to the problem until it has developed into a significant issue.  As Landlord the buck stops with you – so make the time for a little external inspection visit this summer)
